We got very little direction from Mom or Pop regarding how we should run our lives, what moral standards we should live by, or what courses or actions we should be taking in order to achieve educational, financial, health or emotional goals. They didn't discuss either the need or the importance of such goals or standards with us. Pop did have at least one opportunity to provide encouragement with respect to education, and he blew it.
